Pavers are a great option for your backyard patio and can increase the form, function, and overall value of your home. Over time, they can become uneven due to environmental factors and general wear. This video shows how to even out your patio pavers to get them looking good as new.
The first thing to do is power wash the patio to get rid of dirt and grime on the surface and in between the pavers. Next, grab a screwdriver and pop the pavers out one by one. Lay the blocks in a flat area of your yard in the same pattern they have on the patio.
Once you remove the blocks, grab a level and grade the bottom pavers to see where the ground is uneven. Throw crushed lime into the area and level it out. Use more than you think you should because when you put the blocks back in, they will displace the gravel.
Place the blocks back into position and use a rubber hammer to pound them level. If you can, get a few helpers to make the work go faster! When you’re finished, check the evenness with the level again to make sure you did the job right.
